Collaboration with pediatric oncology center in Moldova
On Wednesday, August 7, a collaboration agreement (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed with the Pediatric Oncology Center at the PMSI Institute of Oncology, Chisinau, Moldova. This took place during a two-day working visit of the Director and the Parents' Association from Chisinau to the Princess Máxima Center.
The director of the center signed the agreement together with Rob Pieters, CMO Princess Máxima Center. The collaboration with the Máxima Center will include education and training of pediatric oncology professionals and improvement of guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of children with cancer.
Support
Due to the close relationship of the PMSI in Moldova with the Marie Curie Hospital and the Daruieste Viata Association in Bucharest, Romania, some of the support for the Chisinau center will be provided through Bucharest. Therefore, the director of the Marie Curie Hospital, with which the Máxima Center also has a collaboration agreement, was present during the working visit and the official signing of the MoU.
The Princess Máxima Center has several international partnerships with pediatric oncology departments of children's hospitals in Europe, including e.g. Slovakia (Bratislava) and Ukraine (Lviv).
