Registration Utrecht Marathon 2025 open: new one-lap course around and in THE 'DomStad'
On the 18th of May 2025, Utrecht will be hosting the Utrecht Marathon, with traditionally the start and finish at the Utrecht Science Park. Registration for the running event opens today. The organisers are preparing for a large-scale edition with a major innovation. Starting in 2025, the marathon distance will consist of a single lap with a challenging and attractive route.
Renewed route
For the 41st edition of the Utrecht Marathon, the organisers are putting the finishing touches to the renewed route. A beautiful route through the nature surrounding Utrecht and past several iconic locations of the Domstad. This new route makes the event even more dynamic and more part of the lively city centre. The start and finish are traditionally at the Utrecht Science Park.
Project manager of the Utrecht Marathon Sophie Appeldoorn: ‘The Utrecht Marathon has grown into an important event for the city. By involving the city centre more, we want to offer both participants and spectators an even more enjoyable experience. With the marathon distance over one lap, we are building an event that will attract even more marathon runners to the Dom city in the coming years.’
Jasper van Aalst of the Utrecht Science Park Foundation: ‘We are very proud that this great Utrecht running event will once again start and finish at the Utrecht Science Park. A place, where people work together every day towards a healthy, sustainable society. Sport and exercise is an essential part of this. With the marathon distance over one lap and the other distances, it promises to be a true running fest again.’

This 41st edition of the Utrecht Marathon, just like last year, there is again the Utregse Studentenbokaal especially for students. In a team of three or four, participating students each run the 10 KM in the battle for the coveted Utregse Studentenbokaal!
KWF - Run against cancer
KWF Kankerbestrijding is the charity again this edition. Participants can make a donation when registering or create an action page with KWF.
Working together
The Utrecht Marathon is made possible by Utrecht Science Park as a supporting partner. With the partners Universiteit Utrecht, Hogeschool Utrecht, UMC Utrecht and Sportcentrum Olympos, the Utrecht Science Park gives substance to the Utrecht Marathon. Together, we work on a healthy, sustainable society at the Utrecht Science Park, in which sport and exercise are essential.
