Utrecht Marathon 2025 course announced: unique passage under Dom tower

The HiPRO Utrecht Marathon supported by Utrecht Science Park proudly presents the new course for the 41st edition on 18 May 2025. Participants can choose from four distances: the Utrecht Science Park Marathon, the HiPRO Half Marathon, the GenDx 10 KM and the Utrecht Science Park Mini Marathon. For the first time in years, the marathon distance consists of a single lap, giving runners a beautiful route through both Utrecht and Houten.

COURSES

The start and finish of all distances are at the Utrecht Science Park. After the start, the runners head towards Stadion Galgenwaard, home of FC Utrecht. Next, participants in the marathon distance run towards Houten, where they pass the beautiful Rietplas and its colourful surroundings and both train stations, among other places. After leaving Houten, the runners run kilometres along the Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal towards Lunetten.

From Lunetten, the marathon runners and half marathon runners plunge into Utrecht's historic city centre, where they pass under the iconic Dom tower and take a turn around the Dom church, before returning via Wilhelminapark towards the finish line at the Utrecht Science Park. Along the course, the runners are supported by enthusiastic spectators, making for a unique atmosphere, especially during the tough kilometres in the city centre.

Start times

At the start of the half and full marathon, staggered starts in waves will be used. More information on the start times and format of the waves will follow soon.
